Steps to grow a Neem tree:

A synopsis about Neem tree:
Neem tree is basically a tropical tree. It can grow at any high temperature but the entirely wet provinces are unsuitable for its growth. Neem tree belongs to a category called mesophyte means it can exist neither in a dry environment nor in seasonally wet areas. Moreover, it cannot tolerate drought conditions. Neem tree is well known for its medicinal value, and India is supposed to be its origin. It is hailed as the best treatment for skin inflammations, malaria, ulcers, psoriasis, acne, diabetes, bacterial, fungal infections and yet also for cancer. Neem is used as the special constituent in many personal care products that are being manufactured. Neem is available in various forms like Neem oil, Neem cake, Neem powder, etc. According to ayurveda. Neem oil is considered as one of the best medications for most of the ailments. Thus it is worth growing this nature's gift in a garden or at outdoors not only for shade but also for emergency treatments. It is simple to grow a neem tree if the steps are followed accordingly.

  • Firstly, take a vessel or jar or a pot which ever is available, fill it with the rich quality soil leaving 1 inch from the top. Note: Neem can be grown in any type of soil but make sure that soil with poor draining capacity such as clay is not mixed as Neem tree roots cannot withstand water logging.
  • Water the soil layer in routine to make it even more fertile for the plant. Note: Do not water frequently, which causes water logging at the bottom and makes it unsuitable for the plant to grow.
  • Then spread the Neem seeds at the top of the wet soil and cover it with a half inch of the same soil that is filled below. Once again, water the pot and keep it in a place where it is exposed to sunlight very well. Initially, the sapling requires warmness to grow out from the seed.
  • Necessary plant growth supplements in the form of fertilizer should be provided once in a week for better improvement in its growth. Supply it by mixing few spoons of NPK rich fertilizer with water used for fish cleaning and some pinches of egg shell powder.
  • Continue supplying water and supplement until the plant reaches its height 6 to 9 inches. Later transfer the plant to the ground by digging to the size of the jar using a shovel. Remove the plant along with the soil layer completely and place it in the pit that has been dug. Remember the place of transfer is well exposed to sun rays as well.
