Neem and Karanja oil for skin care:

Neem oil and Karanja oil have similar properties, which make them to refer as cousins. Both these oils constitute compounds having medicinal values, and they were used in most of the treatments. Thus the Neem and karanja tree were considered as nature's gifts to the human race. Neem oil is derived either from the seeds or from the leaves of the tree, whereas Karanja oil is extracted particularly from its seeds. The physical properties of the cousins seem to be identical. They have an exception between them that Neem oil is edible but Karanja oil is not so. When we consider the fact of skin care in special, these oils have a wonderful solution for the skin infections and ailments.


Firstly, considering Neem oil, it constitutes rich fatty acids and vitamin E thus this makes it a tremendous skin moisturizer and has the capability of restoring the skin elasticity. It can be apt to the treatment of dry and cracked skin. Neem oil is well known for its anti-bacterial property so it can obviously be used for wounds and acne infections. In addition it has the characters of anti-inflammations thereby it serves as a key solution for the disorder like eczema. It keeps the skin protected from the parasitic attack by its strong foul smell.

A recipe of Neem oil for skin care:

  • Mix Neem oil with some skin cream or lotion which is antiseptic in nature.
  • Try to apply it over the skin to keep the skin smooth from drying.

Note: Make sure Neem oil is not applied without any skin supplement because raw use of neem oil can cause mild skin irritation when exposed to sunlight depending upon its concentration.


Secondly, Karanja oil which has high content of omega nine fatty acids in particular that is easily absorbed by the derma layer making the skin healthy and bright. Karanja oil is widely used in the manufacturing of beauty products, especially in facial lotions.
Karanja has the capability of treating psoriasis, rheumatism, acne, scabies and skin ulcers. It is recognized as the best Ayurvedic medicinal oil next to Neem and thus used either in combination with Neem oil or in separate. Karanja oil also plays a major role in the skin care treatment of pets. Mixing an ounce of Karanja oil with Neem oil with the skin shampoo or lotion for pets can be effective in eradicating the ticks and mites holding over the skin of pets.
