Organic
Gardening involves usage of Bio-degradable
additives for the fertile growth of plants
or crops. Gardening usually adopted at the
backyard of the property with varying sizes
depending upon the gardeners wish. As a
Gardener I can help out you people to be
proactive in gardening if you read and follow
the instructions carefully which I have
mentioned below.
Firstly preparation of Soil media for the
plants is vital one, for that we need to
know about the essential nutrients for the
growth of a plant. Nutrients are subdivided
into Macro as well as Micro. Macro-nutrients
include Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium
(K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg) and Sulphur
(S). Plants need these Macro-nutrients in
large amount for their growth, so make sure
that Macro-nutrients are provided abundant
in the soil media. These nutrients can be
supplied by using Poultry manure, Grass
Clippings or mixing Egg shell powder along
with the soil. Lime Juice can also be used
in the soil for the supply of calcium and
magnesium. Lime has the ability to promote
the pH (6 - 6.05) of the soil layer making
the nutrients available for the plants in
excess amounts. It also makes the soil to
perform the free air and water movement
activity between the earth particles. Micro-nutrients
are also essential for a fertile soil which
includes Boron (B), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe),
Chloride (Cl), Manganese (Mn), Molybdenum
(Mo) and Zinc (Zn). These are available
in the Grass clippings itself. Try to use
Red earth for Flowering Plants and Dark
earth with dry manure for other plants.
Note:
- Avoiding using Fresh Manure
for Food Crops or plants.
- Poultry Manure in excess when applied
directly can burn plants. So avoid direct
application of such manure.
Pest
has been a menace for the farmers as well
as gardeners. To reduce the pests in gardens,
use ingredients which have effective odor
against them. Garlic, pepper and chilli
powder with the soil. Use of Neem
Oil which is an efficient Bio-pesticide
can also be used to prevent pests and insects
in the garden.
Instructions:
- Take few teaspoons of Garlic and pepper
powder.
- Mix it with the few ml of vegetable
oil or Neem oil.
- Use some proportions of soap detergents
to make it thinner.
- Add a litre of water to it.
- Spray over the plant to eliminate pests.
